CRPF: Central Reserve Police Force

CRPF stands for Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF). A paramilitary organization that is the largest Central Armed Police Force in India. CRPF operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Governmentof India. Its primary objective is to support the states or union territories governmentsin keeping the law and order within their respective areas. The headquarters of the organization are located in New Delhi, India. The government of India has set up the CRPR academy to provide instruction for those who want be part of the CRPF. As of July 2017, Sh Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar is the Director General of CRPF.

• The name CRPF is a relic of"the" Crown Representative's Police (CRP) that was established on the 27th of July 1939, to protect British people who resided in states insensitive to India.
• In 1949, as part of the CRPF Act in 1949, the CRP was changed to the CRPF.
